Had a wonderful time watching Mr. Wolverine’s one-man show at Curran Theatre. W. scored spectacular tickets - 4th row orchestra. The man sang and danced for almost 2 hours without a break. We were treated to extra numbers when he serenaded to his lovely wife in the audience (his family - wife+2 kids and father were in attendance).
The show comprised of a walk-through of his career; both on screen and on stage. Interlaced with intimate looks into his personal life and loves. Wonderful performer. Great looking man (can’t believe he’s 42!) with one of the best ass I’ve seen on a guy. Had to say that because being that close to the stage, you really REALLY notice that. He had a great sense of humor and engages the audience. Being so humble just makes him all that much more attractive.
Let’s just say, this man will NEVER be out of a job. Wonderful, beautiful voice. Best 2 hours spent in SF!
And so, after the show - we made a bee-line to the bathroom where there’d already a long queue. We came outside to a huge clusterfuck of mostly women and with more than half seniors for some reason. Hugh usually emerges from the side of the theatre and greet the fans. A row of metal barricade with SFPD placard was already set up on the sidewalk next to the Theatre. Hugh would come out, move along behind this barricade with his bodyguard and do a meet and greet. Sign as much Playbills as he could before he would be ushered away.
The pics show Hugh emerge and immediately mobbed. I took what pictures I could - it was challenging. There’s much elbowing and rushing by the usually quiet women/seniors. Long story short - I got to him, with equal amount of elbowing and rushing, stuck out my booklet that he signed. I blurted the first thing that came to mind: “You were really good!” (Don’t judge me. I could have said SO much worse.) He smiled and gave me a wave (there’s an elderly couple between him and me) and moved on. XD Major fangirl moment. The last time I was so stupidly giddy was when I met Iron Chef Sakai at his restraurant.
Thank you for a good time, Mr. Jackman. I’ll be waiting to see more nekkid when you do your second Wolverine movie.
On a Vegas mini trip with TogaQ and Co. a few months ago, she and I bought something kinda Yaoi but not very pretty. The others in the group laughed at us for “wasting money” although we LOL’ed back when they lost considerably more at the Tables later that night.
While TogaQ entertained her kids with her old guy farting bubbles, the delayed shame of ’why did I buy this again?’ that came later kept mine in the box. Maybe I’ll get a GoH sign its ass at Fanime for a raffle prize we’ll donate to Yaoi-Con’s night track.
